Considered an ideal vintage, 2016 brought Sonoma County a refreshing and much needed drought break with a rainy winter followed by a wet spring. A cool, moderate August caused ripening to take place slowly and predictably, allowing for longer hang time and prolonging the development of flavors. Harvested berries showed firm, healthy skins, deep flavors, and great acidity—all signs of high-quality wine.
