Wall Road Vineyard – Located at the northern tip of the Mount Veeder AVA, the 3-acre gem that is Wall Road Vineyard is quickly being recognized as a premier vineyard in its appellation. Mountain terrain and a southeast orientation allows for a long growing season above the fog layer. Steep slopes and well-drained soils result in small berries with intense flavor and soft tannins.
Mount Veeder AVA – Found among the Mayacamas Mountains, Mount Veeder is a one-of-a-kind appellation producing intense, age-worthy mountain wines. Rugged conditions that demand high levels of craftsmanship, Mount Veeder is home to the longest growing season in Napa Valley with some of the lowest yields.
Vintage Notes – An even growing season finished by a long, sunny summer, 2013 is considered one of Napa Valley’s finest vintages. Deemed a “best-ever” vintage by Robert Parker, ideal conditions led to bold, tannic reds with amazing cellar potential. Never getting to hot nor too cold, small berries with thick skins ripened to perfection, with concentrated flavor and immense depth. Cabernet Sauvignon proved foremost, with unparalleled power and elegance.
Wine Maker Notes – The Wall Road Cabernet possesses strength and complexity to rival the best mountain wines in Napa Valley. Intense aromas of blackberry, currant, preserved plum, cocoa powder and hints of caramel give way to a layered and dense core of dark fruits and chocolate notes on the palate. A well-structured finish that carries more black fruit and cocoa flavors leaves the promise of many years or even decades of beautiful drinking to come.
