Perennius

2019 PERENNIUS
AVA: Napa Valley
Winemaker: Jeff Ames
Cooperage: 22 Months French Oak, Taransaud and Darnajou

Perennius – Crafted from the best barrel selections of our portfolio, Perennius captures the greatest qualities of our 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon wines.

Napa Valley AVA – One of the world’s premier wine regions, Napa Valley brings the ideal combination of Mediterranean climate, geography and geology, providing excellent consistency vintage-to-vintage. Flanked by the Mayacamas and Vaca Mountain ranges, distinct microclimates and terrains can be found throughout the valley, allowing for a wide range of world-class grape varieties with distinct, recognizable qualities.

Vintage Notes – Another exceptional Napa Valley vintage, the 2019 growing season was marked by a wet spring followed by a long, sunny summer with few extreme heat events. Consistent temperatures helped to preserve the freshness in the fruit while allowing abundant hang time – resulting in concentrated clusters with beautiful color, structure, soft tannins, and bright acidity. These wines will age beautifully for years to come.

Accolades – 2019 Perennius Cabernet Sauvignon

2019 Perennius, Cabernet Sauvignon| Robert Parker Wine Advocate 98, There are just 100 cases of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Perennius—the equivalent of four barrels—mostly selected from the To Kalon and Missouri Hopper vineyards, plus a half barrel from the Wall Road Vineyard. Floral nuances appear on the nose alongside hints of sage and bacon, plus oodles of black cherries and cassis. Full-bodied, this is rich, velvety, and long on the finish, truly a great wine.

2019 Perennius, Cabernet Sauvignon| Jeb Dunnuck 98, A best barrel selection from winemaker Jeff Ames, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Perennius reveals a dense purple hue as well as an incredibly complex bouquet of red and black currants, caramelized blueberries, sandalwood, smoked tobacco, and toasted spice. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, it also stays light on its feet and is beautifully balanced, with an elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great, clean, lengthy finish. This gorgeous, layered, multi-dimensional, and utterly seductive 2019 can be drunk any time over the coming 20-25 years.
