Shipping Policy
Last Updated: August 22, 2022
This Sales and Shipping Policy describes the sales and shipping policy of Boich Family Cellar (“we,” “us,” or “BFC”).
Your order may be subject to sales tax, which will be charged when you place your order. All orders are processed at, and shipped from, our fulfillment warehouse in America Canyon, California (Vinfillment, LLC). We ship via Fed Ex ground and air and our shipping prices include packaging materials. Unless you live on the West Coast, we recommend that you not select “Ground Shipping” as your shipping method, as weather conditions and longer delivery times may result in the spoilage of your order. By placing an order with BFC, you authorize BFC to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver the items in your order to an address specified by you, except as provided below. All orders are FOB Vinfillment, LLC, meaning that when your order is picked up at Vinfillment, LLC by the common carrier for delivery, the items in your order become your responsibility. To protect your order, you may purchase insurance for an additional charge. BFC is not responsible for, and will not replace, any item that is damaged during shipment, including, but not limited to, by reason of extreme weather, delay in delivery, or otherwise.
As further described in the Terms and Conditions, BFC does not sell wine (or any other alcoholic beverage) to persons under the age of 21. All shipments of wine from BFC are sent with an “Adult Signature Required” sticker, and the common carrier that delivers our wine is required to ask and check for identification upon delivery. This means that a person over the age of 21 must be present at the time of delivery.
If your order is returned to us by the common carrier (e.g., due to unsuccessful delivery after three attempts), you will be responsible for any following attempts to re-ship the wine to you. These amounts must be paid before your order is re-shipped and BFC may, but need not, send you an invoice for such amounts.
We are not permitted by law to ship wine to certain states and will not ship wine to addresses is such states or where BFC, in its sole discretion, believes that such shipment may subject BFC to legal action or other harm. If you live in a state to which direct shipment of wine violates the law, we will inform you of this fact when you place your order or as soon as reasonably possible thereafter, and we will not process your order. If you wish to make alternative arrangements (such as, for example, shipping to an alternate shipping address in a state where the direct shipment of wine to consumers is permitted), please contact us at 707-254-8500 or info@boichfamilycellar.com. If you have any questions or concerns about our shipping policies, please contact us at 707-254-8500.
During business hours, your orders are immediately packaged and scheduled for delivery, but may be delayed until ideal weather conditions for shipment arise. The result may be that your shipment does not go out the day that you place an order. You will receive tracking information to the email provided with the order when your wines are ready to be shipped. Generally, we will attempt to ship your wines in the Fall shortly after our annual offer is sent and your order is placed. These shipments are always WEATHER PERMITTING. If you wish to make alternative arrangements please contact us at 707-254-8500 or info@boichfamilycellar.com.
