Beckstoffer To Kalon – Iconic wine comes from iconic vineyards, and Beckstoffer To Kalon is one of the most iconic vineyards in the world. A first-growth vineyard, To Kalon, Greek for “highest beauty,” is lined with various clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, creating its signature “spice box” of flavors. Modern trellising and precise farming play a hand in the production of these opulent and coveted vineyard-designated wines.

Oakville AVA – Found on low-lying flatlands between the Mayacamas and Vaca Mountains, Oakville AVA is rife with well-drained gravel soils, producing Bordeaux varietals rich in texture and firm, approachable tannins. A vinicultural treasure, Oakville’s warm climate, unique soil composition and topography are ideal for growing renowned Cabernet Sauvignon.

Vintage Notes – The 2021 Napa Valley vintage is predicted to be one of the finest in decades. Amid drought conditions, the growing season brought cool nights and sunny, moderate days with few heat spikes, leading to low crop yields and intense concentration of flavor. The berries were packed with color, tannin and flavor, all of which contribute to a stunning vintage from both the Napa Valley mountains as well as the valley floor. The wines are well-structured and powerful while showcasing a beautiful bright acidity and energy. Will age well for decades to come.

Tasting Notes – This wine’s deep, rich ruby color augurs for great things to come. Characteristic of the 2021 vintage with low yields from drought conditions, the wine offers intense black cherry, dark plum and dense boysenberry fruit. Yet typical of the To Kalon Vineyard is the signature hint of tobacco and earth that is beautifully complemented by toasty oak nuances. This amazing wine is impeccably balanced with rich, intense tannins that are polished and round so you can enjoy this beauty now or easily cellar for another 20 years. Spectacular!

Accolades – Jeb Dunnuck, 99 points | A big, ripe, opulent 2021, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard boasts a dense plum/purple hue as well as a sensational nose of black raspberries, currants, flowery incense, sweet tobacco, and underbrush. This carries to a full-bodied, deep, incredibly layered Cabernet with velvety tannins, a great mid-palate, no hard edges, and a killer finish. Drink this singular beauty over the coming two decades.
