Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III – Located on the legendary Rutherford bench, this 300-acre site was once home to BV’s Georges de Latour Private Reserve made by renowned winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff. Planted with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, wines from this historic vineyard have long received wide acclaim. Rutherford AVA – Rutherford is home to some of the most prominent wineries and vineyards. Lying low on the valley floor, this region is composed of well-drained gravel, loam and sand, all of which contribute to the area’s distinguished “Rutherford Dust” terroir. Rutherford Cabernets display great elegance, full-bodied flavor and dusty tannins.   

Vintage Notes – Defined by abundant winter rainfall and mild summer temperatures, the 2023 vintage saw one of the longest harvests in recent Napa history. An extended ripening period allowed grapes to develop remarkable concentration while preserving vibrant natural acidity and aromatic purity. The resulting wines are deeply expressive, offering exceptional freshness, refined structure, and polished tannins. Widely regarded as a benchmark vintage, 2023 combines immediate appeal with the balance and pedigree for decades of cellaring.

Accolades – Jeb Dunnuck, 97 points | The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III comes from a larger valley floor site in Rutherford. Its deep purple hue is followed by quintessential Cabernet notes of crème de cassis, smoked tobacco, loamy earth, freshly sharpened pencils, and cedar. It’s medium to full-bodied, flawlessly balanced, with supple yet present, integrated tannins and a great finish. It’s very much in the pure, focused, ultra-classic style of the vintage and is a wine that grows on you with time in the glass. It needs 4-6 years of bottle age and will keep for 20-30 years thereafter. Drink 2029-2055.
