September 6, 2018 – Vineyard Dogs

Did you know there is an entire hardback book dedicated to the Vineyard Dogs of Napa? Yes, when I first saw it I thought, someone has way too much time on their hands. But now that I live in Napa as a vintner with a dog, I get it. Vineyards dogs of Napa are kind of like those avalanche rescue dogs at Vail in the sense that both have a special attachment to a special place. The difference is that our vineyard dogs really don’t do anything except hang out in the vineyard and chase squirrels and wild turkeys. For those of you that have been to the Boich Estate, you know our vineyard dog – his name is Boomer. Boomer did not make the Vineyard Dogs of Napa book. In fact, he wasn’t even interviewed! So, I thought we would give him a little love with a blog post. This post has no food, no wine, just a big smile from our furry friend Boomer –  and hopefully, his smile puts a smile on your face. And I can’t leave you hanging without a musical reference, so here is a blast from the past link to one of my old favs, Three Dog Night.

Until next time, JB
