As spring approaches, we are thrilled to announce the debut of Boich Family Cellar Chardonnay.
Our first venture into Sonoma County brings another single-vineyard gem with a long history of producing some of Sonoma’s most sought-after Chardonnay. The Ritchie Vineyard in the Russian River Valley AVA is a perfect fit for the Boich Family portfolio. Farmed since 1972 by proprietor Kent Ritchie, this vineyard is known for growing fruit for some of the most celebrated Sonoma Chardonnays. With its characteristically cool climate and productive benchland soil, Ritchie Vineyard’s ideal growing conditions have resulted in monumental success. A site of rare intensity and complexity, these grapes spend their days soaking in coastal fog along with the warmer inland temperatures, resulting in great acidity and a silky, rich mouthfeel.
Behind this beautiful wine is our esteemed winemaker, Jeff Ames, who describes it as “a dance between texture, flavor and minerality.” The nose brings a bouquet of white floral notes, sliced peach and Meyer lemon curd. Woven together with wet stone and kaffir lime-like minerality, this is a wine that will carry you through spring, summer and well beyond autumn.
